Creamy Kale

This is an all inclusive post about kale and a beginner raw food recipe that if made will be made over and over again.

Kale is one of the meatiest leafy vegetable there is. It’s not bitter and soaks up flavorful sauces leaving you with a dense, filling meal. Although it’s not orange it is high in beta-carotene, which prevents cancer and even elevates your mood.

This veggie comes in several varieties, including curly leafed, dinosaur, and plain leafed. Each variety can be treated the same way during food preparation.

When choosing the best kale look at the leaves and stems, make sure that there a vibrant dark green color. Healthy kale should never be limp, yellow, or have brown, slimy, shriveled up dark leaves. You can purchase kale year-round, and most supermarkets carry it.

To destem kale hold the bottom of the stem and pull all the way up to the tip removing the leaves.

Washing kale is important because there is allot of dirt and sand wedged in between the leaves. To wash kale, destem it and fill up a large bowl or sink with water. Let the kale soak for two minutes and dunk the leaves in the water until the dirt settles to the bottom.

This is my go-to beginner raw food recipe that I make when “ah hungry”. It’s creamy, dense and filling.

This looks and sounds so good and healthy the only thing I’m gonna do differently is cut down the amount of cashews. Thanks!
